Please join the Housing and Community Development Committee for a discussion at the February Brown Bag Lunch on the cost of containment for affordable housing. Jeremy Wilkening, Director of Real Estate for Urban Edge, and Susan Connelly, Director of Community Assistance for Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP), will be joining us to share the story of their collaboration to make affordable housing development and construction substantially more cost-efficient through the use of lean management techniques.
About the speakers
Jeremy Wilkening was appointed Director of Real Estate in 2013 after spending nearly five years as Director of Real Estate at the Somerville Community Corporation. His development career began in 2002 in San Francisco and has included positions in rural New York State and at Corcoran Jennison in Boston. Jeremy earned an MBA at the University of California, Davis and a BS in Chemical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Susan Connelly joined the Massachusetts Housing Partnership in 2004 after 17 years in real estate development and management. As the Director of Community Housing Initiatives, she is responsible for overseeing MHP's support of municipalities, community-based non-profits, and public housing authorities in their efforts to build and maintain affordable housing. Before coming to MHP, Sue was development project manager for Keen Development Corporation in Cambridge, MA, and prior to that, she worked for 14 years at Corcoran Jennison Companies. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont and serves on the Cambridge Housing Authority Board of Commissioners.
