About Tabetha McCartney
Tabetha McCartney began her career as a commercial real estate lender working for community banks in the greater Boston Area.  After a 30 year career in this arena, she took a three year sabbatical and coached middle and high school girls soccer and softball.  Returning to professional life, Tabetha took her real estate financing expertise to the affordable housing sector, joining JCHE as the Preservation Manager.  In this role she was responsible for utilizing existing HUD programs and policies and the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program to recapitalize and modernize JCHE’s portfolio of 1,200 affordable senior housing units. Through her work in the rehabilitation of JCHE’s portfolio, Tabetha began to focus on energy saving improvements that cut operating costs across the portfolio.  Working with State and Federal Programs to fund these improvements, Tabetha has helped JCHE reduce its energy consumption by 17% since 2012.  Tabetha served on the Steering Committee of CREW Boston (formerly NEWiRE) during 1996-1999 and chaired the Community Involvement Committee.  She has also served as Chair of the City of Newton Planning and Community Development Board and as Treasurer of the Board of Directors of The Second Step.  Tabetha holds a SB in Management from the Sloan School of MIT and an MBA from The Wharton School.
