CREW Boston’s Housing & Community Development Committee hosted a Zoom Roundtable to discuss the important topic, “What Happens When Developing Affordable Housing is No Longer Affordable.”
CREW Boston’s Membership Committee kicked-off the 2022-2023 year with a night of networking and cheese tasting. Members and non-members mingled on the patio of SMMA’s building in Cambridge while learning more about CREW Boston and sampling different cheeses, prepared by Mill City Cheesemongers. The co-chairs of CREW Boston’s various committees and groups attended to encourage new members to get involved and to introduce non-members to the benefits of joining CREW.
CREW Boston’s October Luncheon featured an all-female panel discussing the design and development of a new campus for the Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology (BFCIT). CREW Boston member and Development Consultant, Marty Jones, Principal of MLJ Insights, moderated the conversation with CEO and President Dr. Aisha Francis, the college’s first woman and first person of color to lead the BFCIT; Project Architect Gail Sullivan, Managing Principal of Studio G Architects and CREW Boston member; Associate Architect Natasha Espada, Principal of Studio Enée, and Landscape Architect Shauna Gillies Smith, Principal of Ground, Inc.
Although the weather was a little chilly, CREW Boston members and colleagues enjoyed a day on the links at Wellesley Country Club to benefit the CREW Boston Educational Foundation. Thanks to all the players, sponsors, volunteers, and our incredible Golf committee who helped make our 26th annual charity golf tournament a success. The Entrepreneur Exchange group kicked off the CREW Year with a fun night of networking at Trillium Brewing Company in Canton.
In an exciting return to the CREW Network Convention post-COVID, a 32 member-strong contingent from CREW Boston descended on Chicago along with nearly 1,400 other CRE professionals from across the US. In addition to welcoming a new Hawaii chapter, CREW Network also welcomed new chapters from Paris and Mexico City—the latest in its global expansion strategy.
CREW Boston kicked off our 2022-2023 season with a September Luncheon featuring Keynote Speaker Lisa Strope, Vice President, Director of Research at TA Realty. Hosted in the Wharf Room at the Boston Harbor Hotel, Strope provided a market overview on what we can expect in the upcoming year and how it will affect the various commercial real estate markets.
Members got together at the offices of Madison Marquette to meet and discuss this year’s upcoming CREW Convention in Chicago. While enjoying lunch, attendees shared tips and tricks on how to get the most out of the trip, especially for first-timers.
Guests enjoyed a fun evening at The Range in Hingham on Wednesday, August 24th. Golfers were treated to a private area where they could practice their swing, munch on some snacks, and network with fellow industry peers and golf enthusiasts. The weather cooperated and a great time was had by all!
Members gathered for a virtual happy hour to learn more about the Convention in Chicago. Attendees shared their personal Convention experiences with new CREW members and toasted the night together with their own signature Chicago cocktails.
