CREW Boston’s Programs Committee hosted a seminar on “Building Relationships through Networking” the evening of Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Held at Proskauer Rose LLP, the seminar featured panelists Rebecca Bachand, Owner of RBLA Design LLC; Karen Hurd, Senior Vice President of National Accounts at AEI Consultants; and Sarah McGillicuddy, Associate Principal and Director of Business Development at BR+ A Consulting Engineers, moderated by Gayle Bourdeau, VP and Senior Underwriting Counsel of Land Services USA, LLC. The group shared personal stories and advice on how to authentically build one’s personal network through the lens of long-term authentic relationship building and thoughtfully utilizing organizational resources.
The panelists reflected that it can be difficult to predict what opportunities a relationship could provide over time, as people’s roles and needs change and can lead to unexpected benefits. The stories also emphasized benefits of their CREW member relationships. In many examples, this connection provided needed support, resources, and even led to new job opportunities at critical points of their careers.
