On June 4, CREW Boston members gathered for an exclusive hard hat tour of Lyra, the new 34-story residential tower rising above the Huntington Theatre and across from Symphony Hall in Boston's Avenue of the Arts district.
Hosted by the project team, the tour offered a behind-the-scenes look at one of Boston's most significant residential developments currently under construction. Attendees heard from the owner, designers, and contractors about the vision for the project and the collaboration required to deliver 432 new residential units and retail space in a highly complex urban setting.
Members gained insight into the unique challenges of constructing the tower adjacent to the MBTA Green Line tunnel while coordinating closely with neighboring institutions, including the Huntington Theatre and New England Conservatory. The tour also showcased several standout features of the development, including three levels of below-grade parking, a two-story glass-enclosed tenant space, and a rooftop sky deck with a resident bar and outdoor terrace.
The event provided members with a valuable opportunity to learn from industry leaders, explore innovative construction and design solutions, and experience firsthand the progress of a transformative project shaping Boston's skyline.
