CREW Boston

Site Tour of the Pryde

On Wednesday, December 13th, members of our Housing and Community Development Committee enjoyed a tour of The Pryde, the first LGBTQ-affirming affordable development in New England.

Led by tour guides Karmen Cheung, Senior Developer at Pennrose, along with Gretchen Van Ness, Executive Director at LGBTQ Senior Housing Inc., and Aileen Montour, President/Board Chair at LGBTQ Senior Housing Inc., members got an inside look at the nearly completed renovation and adaptive reuse of the William Barton Rogers School at 15 Everett Street in Hyde Park.  When finished, Pennrose LLC and its nonprofit partner, LGBTQ Senior Housing Inc., will have transformed this former school building into a 74-unit mixed income senior rental housing project known as The Pryde.

After the tour, members enjoyed some dinner at nearby Antonio’s Barcaro.

Thanks to our tour guides for showing us around this impressive project!
