Last fall Tod McGrath joined us to provide an informative session defining terms like ROI, NPV, IRR.  This summer we are happy to have Tod join us again to provide a brief review of Finance 101, while discussing new topics such as the latest research on cap rates, a cutting edge way to estimate condo sales prices, and a new metric for determing the fairnes of a negotiated JV waterfall provision. Tod is a well-known lecturer at MIT’s Center for Real Estate and will help you learn new terms and concepts and sharpen your analytic approach to real estate underwriting and negotiating.
 
About Tod McGrath
Tod is a Lecturer in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning (DUSP) at MIT and a Vice President of Finance at Boston Properties.   At MIT, he has taught introductory and advanced courses in real estate finance and development and currently teaches a two-semester course sequence on negotiating the most important business agreements required in a development venture.
 
Previously, Tod had his own real estate consulting firm and ran the MIT Center for Real Estate. Prior to that, he was a Sr. Vice President at McCall & Almy, Inc., and a Vice President at Winthrop Financial Associates and Meredith & Grew.
 
Tod is a graduate of Columbia College and received his M.B.A from the Graduate School of Business of Columbia University.
