Six CREW Boston members headed west to Portland, Oregon for CREW Network’s Leadership Summit on June 19-20, 2025. The Boston delegation networked with members from around the globe over many productive meetings. CREW Network’s President Cindy MacMillan of Grosvenor kicked off the Summit by acknowledging Juneteenth, announcing that CREW Network has selected a new CEO (announcement to come) and noting that the CREW Network Board has reaffirmed the organization's historical and central commitments related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Thursday’s session also featured two amazing speakers. Rosalind Wiseman, author of “Queen Bees and Wannabees” (inspiration for “Mean Girls”) discussed overcoming the fear of seeming mean or uncooperative when communicating assertively. This was followed by Jeannine Brown of Everyday Lead who provided context and history for Juneteenth, presented strategies for inclusive workplaces and moderated a fireside chat with CREW Members Trina Joseph, Managing Partner, Coro Realty Advisors, and Marsha Womack, SVP, Hope Credit Union, who spoke about their career journeys as women of color. Friday’s session included a return of Ms. Brown who discussed how psychologically safe environments create successful teams. The final speaker, Scott Oser, provided tips for securing sponsorships.
