Women in Government Reception On April 6th CREW Boston’s Public Strategies Committee hosted its annual Women in Government reception. Over 75 CREW members and invited guests gathered at the Union Club for the popular event. Energy ran high in the room as attendees networked before and after listening to the evening’s guest speaker, Attorney General Maura Healey. Attorney General Healey addressed the topic of running for elected office as a woman as well as the priorities she has established for her office, including pay equity. Healey seamlessly blended a substantive discussion of woman in electoral politics and in the workplace, generally, with humorous anecdotes that drove home her points. Noting that she still sees far too few women in meetings that she attends, Ms. Healey called out the value of networking organizations and events such as CREW and the WIG reception, and urged attendees to support one another.
