On Thursday, February 25
th, over 75 CREW Boston members gathered in the KITCHEN at the Boston Public Market to meet our new members and honor our legacy members. Cara Nelson, President Elect and partner at DLA Piper LLP, kicked off the evening by welcoming everyone and encouraging new members to get involved by joining a committee. She even encouraged ALL members to get involved, as it is never too late to join a committee.
Amy Prange, Vice President, Development & Consulting Services at Colliers International (the Owner’s Project Manager for the Boston Public Market), gave a brief overview of the development and construction of the Boston Public Market (including the majority-women project team), which opened in July of 2015, and shared a slideshow of construction photos. Sara Ross, from The Trustees of Reservations, explained the background of the KITCHEN at the Boston Public Market, and the types of events they host. Bringing it back to the food, Lee Miller, the resident chef at the Boston Public Market, gave a short cooking demonstration of New England Potato Skins (which everyone got to taste), and provided a recipe and shopping list to highlight the various vendors in the market.
It was a special night of networking for new and all members, where members had the opportunity to catch up with one another while learning about the market and shopping locally sourced items.
