Veg out! Discover Kendall Square's Green Oasis with CREW Boston & Green City Growers
Kendall Center, Green Parking Garage
90 Broadway, Cambridge MA
Public
The CREW Boston Series on Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture culminates with a Tour of the Kendall Square Rooftop Garden! Join us July 19th at The Kendall Center to explore this green oasis with Jessie Banhazi, CEO & Founder of Green City Growers.
Located between MIT and the Charles River, Kendall Square is a hub of technology and innovation. On site, Boston Properties collaborates with Green City Growers to provide The Kendall Center’s tenants with garden education programs in this rooftop community garden. 100% of the produce grown here is donated to their food rescue partner, Food for Free.
After the rooftop garden tour, we’ll take a short walk over to EVOO for refreshments and hors d'oeuvres. An acronym for Extra Virgin Olive Oil, this LEED Gold Certified Restaurant serves eclectic New American cuisine featuring organic, local and sustainable ingredients in an ever-changing menu. Representatives from EVOO will be on hand to tell us about their sustainable approach to their menu.

A collaboration among CREW Boston members, the CREW Boston Series on Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture included a November 2017 review of urban agriculture trends and techniques hosted by our Sustainability Group and a discussion of food insecurity challenges and solutions with our Housing & Community Development Committee this May. Look for a similar effort related to Climate in our 2018-2019 programming.
