On Thursday, July 31
st, CREW Boston’s Membership Committee hosted a Summer Soirée, celebrating what makes CREW unique while recognizing our incredible committee members.
Attendees heard a brief update on US2’s revitalization of Union Square in Somerville, viewed a model of the area, and toured
10 Prospect, a 196,000 square foot Class-A life sciences building (including 60,000 SF of plug-and-play lab suites). Back in February 2021, CREW Boston hosted a virtual luncheon program on the history and future revitalization of Somerville’s Union Square. This event provided members a full circle opportunity to see what has been achieved to-date.
USQ is transforming Somerville’s historic Union Square into a new hub for innovation and life sciences discovery, anchored by the MBTA’s Union Square Station. The 20-acre, 3.8 million square foot, transit-oriented development will feature over 2.3 million square feet of lab and office space, a hotel, 1,000 homes, retail, and green spaces. Phase 1 includes
10 Prospect, 450 apartments and Union Square Station Plaza, an 18,000 square foot public gathering space — the largest in Union Square.
USQ is advancing Somerville’s "SomerVision" plan, driving sustainable growth, job creation, new housing, improved mobility, and expanded public spaces.
Thanks to speaker Greg Karczewski, President of US2, for a wonderful evening!
