CREW Boston members enjoyed a lovely lunch and great conversation with Joan Parsons at Riemer & Braunstein on June 7, 2016.  Joan is a Senior Partner at the law firm and has been an active member of CREW for many years, including serving as CREW Boston’s 2010-2011 President.  The conversation focused on three main themes.  Joan first spoke about framing challenges and opportunities and how she uses this concept to draw positives from prior experiences.  She also spoke about accountability, and the importance of holding yourself accountable in life so you can accomplish your goals.  Lastly, Joan encouraged the group to not be afraid to ask for what you want.  The group shared personal stories of challenges they have faced in their careers, and exchanged ideas about how best to face situations we encounter as women in the real estate profession.  Joan generously provided each attendee with a copy of Amy Cuddy’s book “Presence” as a parting gift.  Amy Cuddy will be one of the speakers at the CREW Network Convention in New York City this fall, so this was a very fitting gift for the CREW Boston members in attendance.  Thanks to Joan for hosting this fun event and to all in attendance who contributed to the great conversation!
