On Thursday, June 13^th, CREW Boston members were treated to an insider’s tour of Lyrik Back Bay, the first air-rights project completed over the Mass Pike in 40 years. 
 
Attendees heard from Samuels & Associates Rachael Diharce, VP of Retail Leasing; Emily Simard, Senior Leasing Manager for office and lab, and Sienna DeSantis, Development Manager, as they told the story of the transformation of Parcel 12 into a newfound anchor for the neighborhood and gateway to Boston - a draw for tourists and residents alike.

Lyrik anchors the west end of Newbury Street, straddling eight lanes of I-90, as well as the MBTA’s Framingham/Worcester Commuter Rail Line, and Amtrak railroad tracks which, when open, will be home to 450,000 square feet of commercial space. The office component, 1001 Boylston, will be anchored by CarGurus’ new global headquarters and the Lego Group’s Americas Head Office. This summer, Lyrik will welcome citizenM’s largest hotel and visitors will be able to experience Boston’s first outpost for the electric vehicle brand Rivian. The addition of George Howell Coffee, Pink Carrot, and the tea house ChiCha San Chen is in the works for late fall. Come spring 2025, the Greek restaurant Avra Estiatorio will launch with expansive views of Back Bay, private balcony seating, and a spacious bar area. Live music, experiential activations, and public art installations in the two-level retail plaza can be expected too.
