CREW Boston

Heat Resilience Solutions for Boston Discussion & Walking Tour

On Wednesday, May 31st, members of CREW Boston’s Sustainability Group gathered at Sasaki to learn more about Boston’s recently released Heat Resilience Plan.

Tamar Warburg, Sasaki’s Director of Sustainability, led an interactive conversation with two members of the project team responsible for developing the plan – Zoe Davis, City of Boston’s Climate Resilience Project Manager, and Julia Carlton MacKay, Conservation Law Foundation’s Director of Community Resilience. The plan provides a city-wide framework to help us prepare for Boston’s environmental justice neighborhood, including the City’s hottest neighborhood, Chinatown.

After learning about the City’s proactive heat reduction strategies, Warburg and MacKay took members on a walking tour of Chinatown, where they saw these strategies in action and learned about areas that were being discussed for future projects. The evening ended with a yummy group dinner and networking at a Chinatown favorite, The Q.

A big thanks to our panelists for a wonderful event!
