On Thursday, May 23
rd, our Entrepreneur Exchange Group was joined by CREW Boston’s Entrepreneur of the Year, Shelley Balanda, Founder and Managing Principal of Footprynt. After brief introductions, Shelley shared stories of her career path, discussed her mentors and her love of mentoring younger women interested in entrepreneurship. An accounting major, she's taken lessons learned from various real estate roles -- from institutional brokerage to repositioning Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco -- and developed her consulting service with a broader than expected reach.
What might be a project-based role in a firm is a perfect fit for a consultancy. With Footprynt, Shelley shares institutional knowledge and skill sets like building out institutional relationships and developing internal policies to bring companies to the next level.
Over the past 4 years, Shelley's gotten married, moved 5 times, and welcomed 2 kids while launching her practice. "Life is full!" She's currently looking at streamlining Footprynt and opportunities for new growth. Noting that "disruptions in the marketplace lead to opportunity," you might be hearing Shelley speak to CREW Boston's Sustainability Group about "Regenerative Industrial" soon.
Thanks to Shelley for joining us!
