CREW Boston’s Design & Development Group hosted members for a behind-the-scenes Hard Hat Tour of Boston Sand & Gravel on Wednesday, May 7^th. 
 
Known for its role in major infrastructure projects such as the Central Artery/Tunnel, wastewater treatment facilities, high-rise buildings, and more, Boston Sand & Gravel is a leader in the production and delivery of ready-mixed concrete and aggregates.
 
During the tour, attendees learned about the company’s advanced operations, including their fleet of mixer trucks, GPS-enabled dispatch system, and the logistical coordination that allows them to serve projects ranging from small residential pours to massive commercial and infrastructure developments.  They also discussed their sustainability efforts including the use of lower carbon concrete, innovative products, and water recycling. Thanks to Boston Sand & Gravel for having us, especially our tour guides Jim Carreira, David Kelley, Alan Pastyrnak, and Dean Boylan.
