On November 18th, the CREW Boston Community Involvement Committee (CIC) hosted the annual Holiday Shop for a Cause event to benefit the Elizabeth Stone House (ESH), an organization that serves homeless and at-risk families and individuals who have experienced domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental illness. Approximately 100 attendees shopped the wares of 12 vendors with a treasure trove of goods for the mind, body and soul, including handcrafted jewelry, locally-roasted coffee, handbags, wine totes and even organic lavender products! Most importantly, the event raised approximately $2,400 for ESH, which will be used for camperships for the children served by ESH. Nancy Hess (Executive Director) spoke on behalf of ESH to offer attendees insightful background on the organization’s mission and the significant impact these funds will have on the children that it serves. Jim May (Development Director) and Rebecca Allen (Donor Relations Manager) of ESH also attended to mix and mingle with CREW Boston. Nancy and Jim advised that the funds raised by the event will send more than ten kids to camp next year! ESH was thrilled by the generosity and continued support of CREW Boston and its members.
A special thank you to the vendors, attendees, and volunteers involved in making this such a successful event! In particular, CREW Boston would like to thank Oxford Properties for donating its space at 125 Summer Street along with complimentary parking for the event.
