The Rising Leaders Group hosted a virtual conversation with Marci Loeber, Managing Principal of Griffith Properties, a real estate investment firm that focuses on core-plus and value-added office, lab, industrial, R&D, and retail assets located in the Boston to Washington DC corridor. During this zoom event, Marci shared her career path and 28 years of experience in the industry. She also discussed how to foster conversation regarding career development in real estate and fielded questions from members.

The Rising Leaders were fortunate to have Tracy Welch, Vice President and Investment Counselor and Laura Godine, Vice President and Director of Wealth Management from Eaton Vance educate our group on personal finance. Tracy spoke on topics of active vs. passive investing, compound interest, asset allocation, as well as retirement planning. For the second part of the evening, Laura stressed the importance of wealth planning through health care proxies, powers of attorneys, wills, trust, §529 plans and charitable planning. Tracy and Laura provided clear guidelines and examples that left attendees with the knowledge and inspiration to better prepare themselves financially. This was the second annual collaboration with WWIRE (Wellness for Women in Real Estate) and keeping with the theme of health and wellness, nutritious refreshments were graciously provided by Eastdil Secured and Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company – National Commercial Services.

The Rising Leaders Group, with the help of Goodwin Procter LLP and Commonwealth Land Title National Commercial Services, hosted a night of well-being for CREW and WWIRE members. Keith Foley, a physical therapist from Joint Ventures, demonstrated exercises to help loosen muscles that can stiffen during the work day. Attendees joined Keith in stretching and positioning to reduce the effects of neck and back pain as well as carpel tunnel. Andy Kelley, the renowned Boston Buddha, spoke to the group about the importance of understanding the effects of stress, deterring distractions to focus on the task at hand, and the basics of meditation. Andy then taught a technique of using breath, silent sound, and mantra to use during meditation. From the nutritious smoothies and snacks, to the simple workplace exercises, to the calming meditation, the night left guests rejuvenated.
