Kate Moran Carter has become a Shareholder of Dain Torpy

Dain Torpy is pleased to announce that Kate Moran Carter has become a Shareholder of the firm. Kate provides advice, litigation, and litigation avoidance services to clients in connection with zoning litigation, landlord/tenant leasing disputes, buyer/seller real estate transaction disputes, owner/contractor construction disputes, broker/client commission disputes, easement construction, forged deeds and mortgage discharges, boundary line disputes, claims against escrow agents, including defalcation claims, tax liens, foreclosure disputes, adverse possession, and beach rights. Additionally, Kate’s practice has a particular focus on advising condominium associations in connection with a full range of issues including interpretation of condominium documents, the initial transition from developer control, governance questions, construction litigation, and disputes with unit owners.

von Goeler Promoted to Principal

We are proud to announce that Liz von Goeler, NCIDQ, has been promoted to principal in our architecture and interior design practice. With over 25 years of industry experience, von Goeler's unique experiences and approaches simultaneously expand our practice and bring together multiple Sasaki disciplines. Von Goeler’s background is in corporate workplace repositioning, corporate interiors, hospitality and multifamily housing. Some of her notable local projects include 125 Summer Street Repositioning and Fish & Richardson (completed at a previous firm). She is currently working with Fidelity Investments, Cambridge Biomarketing, and the State Room with Oxford. "I am incredibly excited about providing leadership and mentoring a great interior design group," von Goeler says. "They have done so many amazing projects, written great thought leadership pieces, and utilized tools in ways I didn’t know was possible. I am looking forward to learning more from them as well."

Alta Properties Acquires 180 Admiral Cochrane Drive in Annapolis, MD

A partnership between Alta Properties LLC, Grander Capital Partners, and Boston Andes Capital recently announced the acquisition of 180 Admiral Cochrane Drive in Annapolis, Maryland. The 125,728-square-foot, Class A office building is strategically located in the sought-after Riva Road corridor of Annapolis. The location offers tremendous access to the area’s major roadways, and proximity to Washington DC, Baltimore, and Maryland’s top employer Ft. Meade. This investment offered the opportunity to acquire a recently renovated office property in what has historically been a tight office market.

ENR New England Selects Jennifer Pinck as 2018 Legacy Award Winner

ENR New England has selected Jennifer Pinck, founder of Pinck & Co. Inc., as its 2018 Legacy Award Winner. Chosen by ENR editors, the Legacy Award is “given annually to an individual in the region who has established a solid ‘legacy’ of lifetime service to the construction industry, their colleagues and to their community,” according to the publication, which covers industry news across all New England states. Pinck will receive her award during the ENR New England Best Project’s awards event on Dec. 12 in Boston. She will also be featured in the May/June 2019 issue of ENR New England.

Cynthia Gibson Murphy joins Adjuct Faculty at Roger Williams University

Margulies Perruzzi Architects is pleased to announce that Associate Partner Cynthia Gibson Murphy has joined the adjunct faculty at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. This fall she will be teaching to both graduate and undergraduate architecture students in the School of Architecture, Art, and Historic Preservation. Her classes include Professional Practice and Computer Applications in Professional Practice. Cyndy’s natural skill as a teacher and mentor is evident in the number of staff she has helped develop over the years. She has been one of MPA’s driving forces in ensuring the firm-wide usage of the most current software for both design and construction management, making her uniquely suited to instruct these classes. Cyndy is a 2003 graduate from Roger Williams University, and was one of the first to graduate from the Masters of Architecture program when it was founded. We are excited for her to share her skills and knowledge with her alma-mater.
