A small group of CREW Boston members enjoyed a lively discussion of our respective careers in commercial real estate, which was hosted and led by Kathleen Ahern. Kathy started the lunch by giving an overview of her more than 30 years in banking. She has held many roles within the banking industry and has endured many real estate cycles, all of which has helped her become the well-rounded credit risk officer she is today. The conversation flowed freely among the group and everyone was an active participant in the discussion.

Members enjoyed a very upbeat and energetic lunch with Kathleen Joyce Kusiak. Kathleen talked about how she started her career in financial services, went on to do marketing and business development in the Commercial Real Estate industry, and is now a developer of office property and hotels. She attributes her success to these three tips: luck, staying visible and continually reaching out to your personal network. Each luncheon participant had a chance to tell her story and the overall consensus, was that everyone is enjoying their role in Commercial Real Estate.

We also tasted select meats and cheeses from a local North End market.

CREW Boston was excited to present a panel comprised of four CREW Boston Legacy members, Marianne Ajemian, Ileen Gladstone, Leslie Saul and Marianne Votta, leaders in the real estate community. The panel was moderated by CREW Boston immediate past president, Claudia Piper and there was time for attendees to ask questions and network. These amazing women participated in last year's Legacy Lunch Series, and we were delighted to have them together for an evening of candid discussion.

In December, 12 CREW Boston members toured the Elizabeth Stone House’s (ESH) current location at 8 Notre Dame Street in Roxbury. The Community Involvement Committee (CIC) organized this site visit given the Stone House is its chosen charity for the 2015/2016 year. The tour was of the current ESH location where they have their cramped offices, common area library and living room, and childcare space along with 11 residential apartments (these are a mix of 3 and 4 bedrooms which house many different sized families which leads to the occasionally coupling up of 2 families in an apartment).
