CREW Boston Announces the Appointment of New Board Members - Gouin named President for 2024-2025
CREW Boston announced the appointment of 2 new members to the Board of Directors. This brings the number of board members to 12.

At the June meeting, Shelly Gouin was announced as President along with Kate Moran Carter as President-Elect for 2024-2025. 

Shelly Gouin is an Officer of Debt Capital Markets at TA Realty in Boston, MA.  With significant prior experience as a lender, Shelly brings relationship management skills and experience leading deal teams. She has been a member of CREW Boston for 13 years, serving on various committees, a participant of the Leadership Academy, Board Member, and Treasurer. She is most proud of her work as a Co-Chair of the Mentor Committee. Shelly looks forward to bringing her enthusiasm for connection and mentorship to continue advancing CREW Boston’s mission.  We are excited for her leadership in driving CREW Boston forward. 
 
When asked about serving as CREW Boston President, Gouin said,  “I’m honored and excited to serve as CREW Boston President alongside our extraordinary leadership team. I look forward to continuing to give back to our incredible membership.”
 
Kate Moran Carter is a Shareholder and Director at Dain, Torpy, Le Ra, Wiest & Garner, P.C., in Boston, MA.  She has nearly two decades of experience representing owners, developers, investors, tenants, and managers of commercial real estate.   As co-chair of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, Kate’s practice focuses on real estate land use, title litigation, and helping her clients manage risk and resolve disputes to avoid litigation. She has successfully tried cases before the Massachusetts state and federal courts, including the Massachusetts Land Court, and successfully argued before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Rhode Island Supreme Court. Kate has lectured widely on topics including zoning appeals and commercial leasing disputes, and has co-authored several amicus briefs, including on issues related to the Dover Amendment, protected land uses, and large-scale, ground-mounted solar projects.
 
Prior to serving as CREW Boston’s President-Elect, Kate served three years on the Board of Directors and Co-Chaired the Programs Committee. Within CREW Boston and at Dain Torpy, Kate is committed to creating a welcoming professional community for women from all backgrounds, celebrating women’s successes, and amplifying the voices of women in the commercial real estate industry who reflect a variety of viewpoints, experience, and backgrounds.
 
Moran Carter said, “This is such an exciting opportunity, with which the Board has entrusted me. I’m so looking forward to using this year to learn from Shelly’s leadership and to get to meet and hear from as many of our members as possible.”
 
Also joining the board are Emily Paparella of Elkus Manfredi Architects and Amy Prange of WS Development.  All directors are volunteers and serve a three-year term on a rotating basis.
