Dear CREW Boston Members, Happy New Year! As a happily, habitual resolution-maker, I love the start of the year. My resolution list is long and includes lots of repeats from years before. But my list also includes a new, overarching mantra to look for more opportunities for joy and beauty every day. I’m happy to report that in that spirit, in the first week of January, I spent one night painting in a watercolor workbook in front of the fire, had fancy drinks with a friend at the Long Bar & Terrace, and used candles at the dinner table on a regular Thursday night. At CREW Boston, we’re approaching 2026 with that same mindset: building on our past successes and setting clear intentions as to how we can improve the CREW Boston experience for our members. As we reflect on the past quarter, I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, including: Meaningful, timely programming including our October event discussing menopause in the workplace—a powerful conversation that not only validated many attendees’ lived-experience but created a safe space for members to share ideas, resources, and laughs about what is a difficult and uniquely-female experience. Continued progress advancing our third initiative to elevate CREW Boston’s brand identity as a thought-leader in the commercial real estate industry, including organizing our January Luncheon Program which will bring together thought leaders from MIT’s Center for Real Estate, Boston’s Women’s Workforce Council, and several Boston real estate companies to digest the 2025 CREW Network Benchmark Study and discuss actionable ways we can work together to continue to advance the progress of women and minorities in the commercial real estate workplace. The Board also has its own list of “resolutions” it’s committed to bring to life this year including: Three new committees – a Wellness Committee, a Counsel Collaborative, and Real Estate and Technology Committee – to expand opportunities for member engagement, information exchange, and community-building. More details will be shared soon. Development of a robust database of our members’ subject-matter expertise, allowing CREW Boston to intentionally elevate CREW Boston voices—on panels, at industry events, in the media, and beyond. If you’ve ever considered raising your hand to speak, write, or share your expertise, this is your moment. Clearer communication about leadership opportunities, including programming where you can hear from members of the Board of Directors about their own paths to leadership within CREW Boston and the ways in which members can gain more leadership experience. And mark your calendars, applications for the CREW Boston Board of Directors will be coming out in late February. Thank you for your continued engagement, energy, and commitment to CREW Boston. I’m excited for what we’ll accomplish together in the year ahead. Warm regards, Kate Moran Carter President, CREW Boston Shareholder & Director Dain, Torpy, Le Ray, Wiest & Garner, P.C.
