20 CREW Boston Members Honored at BISNOW Power Women

At the Westin Copley Place, forty women in Boston’s CRE industry were honored as BISNOW Boston’s Power Women, those who have made an impact in their career, the industry, and who have empowered women along the way. CREW Boston was honored to be the premier sponsor as the organization is dedicated to advancing women in commercial real estate.  The event kicked off with an opening keynote from CREW Boston President, Barbara Oddo of Lincoln Property Company. It was followed by an esteemed panel who shared their experiences, advice, and solutions of creating a more diverse workplace.

CREW Boston announces members to serve on the 2018-2019 Board of Directors

CREW Boston is pleased to announce the 2018-2019 Board of Directors led by CREW Boston President, Barbara Oddo, Vice President with Lincoln Property Company. All Directors are volunteers and serve a three-year term on a rotating basis. The CREW Boston President-Elect serves as a Delegate to CREW Network for a one-year term. CREW Boston also elects one additional Delegate to CREW Network who serves a two-year term. Elections are held annually.

Save the date for the 2018 Charity Golf Tournament

Mark your calendar - CREW Boston's Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the CREW Boston Educational Foundation will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018.  The purpose of the tournament is not only to enjoy a day on the golf course and to network with other real estate professionals, but also to support the CREW Boston Educational Foundation, Inc. a 501 (c) (3), is an endowed fund that supports the CREW Boston Educational Foundation Scholarship (Scholarship).  The Scholarship will be awarded to one or more female junior, senior or graduate students at one or more  accredited colleges  or universities  based in New England. Qualified students  must  demonstrate, through her  course studies as well as any jobs or internships with a commercial real estate firm, an interest in pursuing a career in commercial real estate. All from the CREW Boston Annual Charity Golf Tournament will benefit the foundation to support its mission.

Registration will open in late June but sponsorship opportunities are available now.

CREW Boston will be awarding 5 grants of $1,000 each to be applied toward the cost of registration and travel to the 2018 CREW Network Convention & Marketplace, which will take place on October 17-19, 2018 in San Diego. Apply Today!

CREW Boston President Lisa Serafin shares her thoughts in the March 25th issue of Banker & Tradesman on "Leading the Way to a More Diverse Real Estate Industry." 
Research has shown that diversity at companies leads to higher profits, increased innovation, and exposure to a broader talent pool. Yet as workplaces become more diverse, this evolution is slow to be reflected in the commercial real estate industry. Women and non-white men held a combined 22 percent of senior positions in commercial real estate companies, according to a 2013 report by the Commercial Real Estate Development Association. When taken to the middle management level, the number improves only slightly to 30 percent. Click here for the full article.

CREW Boston is seeking new members for the 2018-2019 Board of Directors

The Nominating Committee is seeking candidates for the 2018 - 2019 CREW Boston Board of Directors.  Nominations will be presented to our membership for confirmation at the Annual Meeting on June 13, 2018. In addition, the Board of Directors is again accepting nominations from any current or past Board Member interested in serving as the 2019-2020 President, which will include serving as President-Elect for 2018-2019.
