Members met for some virtual Coffee with CREW where they learned from Dianne Crocker, Gayle Bourdeau, and Karen Hurd about the exciting programs, training resources, and networking opportunities that exist at the global CREW Network level.
The Entrepreneur Exchange Group met virtually in March with record attendance. With myriad reasons for setting out on their own, many new faces joined us to share their stories. With member experiences ranging from literally filing their LLC applications to the "teen angst" phase to 30+years in business, we were inspired and motivated, and found synergies and opportunities for collaboration with each introduction.
CREW Boston’s Development Project Management Group (DPMG) hosted a panel of experts during Women in Construction Week to discuss the upcoming Stretch Energy Code and Specialized Opt-In Code. Panelists included Roselin Osser, PE, BEMP, LEED, AP BD+C Energy + Performance at AKF Group; Naciem Nowrouzi, AIA, Associate Principal & Building Envelope Consultant at Arup, and Prachi Sharma, AIA Intl. Assoc, LEED AP BD+C, Building Performance Analyst at the Green Engineer.
CREW Boston’s Rising Leaders hosted members for some networking and ice skating at The Rink at 401 Park on Monday, February 27th. Members enjoyed complimentary skating rentals and snacks from Trillium thanks to our sponsor Samuels & Associates. It was a beautiful night to be outside and partake in some winter fun!
On February 16th, CREW Boston enjoyed a guided tour of the Bower Apartments located in Fenway. We were escorted by Kelly Saito, Partner at Green Cities; Jennie Kalberer, Senior Director, Design & Brand of Green Cities; and Courtney Carlucci, Senior Community Manager at the Bower Apartments.
On Wednesday, February 15th, CREW Boston’s Meds and Eds group enjoyed the first industry tour of Beth Israel Lahey Health’s Klarmen Building. The new 385,000 SF inpatient building on Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s (BIDMC) West Campus features single-bed patient rooms, a roof garden and helipad, and state-of-the-art surgical spaces.
Members gathered at TA Realty in February for a group viewing of CREW Network’s Webinar with Spencer Levy, a Global Client Strategist and Senior Economic Advisor at CBRE. Levy provided an in-depth look at the key economic issues that are driving the global economy and gave his predictions for the commercial real estate market in the coming months.
Members came together for a night of celebration as we welcomed our newest members and honored members of our Legacy Council.
On January 31, 2023, CREW Boston hosted David Perry and Bevin Littlehale of Hines for a presentation of the history and vision of Hines’ South Station Project. The Project is the realization of the combined vision of the Boston Redevelopment Authority, the MBTA and the Federal Railroad Administration, first articulated in the late-1970’s, to redevelop South Station as a multi-modal transportation center coupled with a mixed-use air-rights development.
CREW Boston’s Housing & Community Development Committee (HCDC) hosted Jan Brogan, local author of “The Combat Zone,” for an in-person conversation on Thursday, January 26th at ICON Architecture.
