At our annual event to welcome our new members and honor members of the CREW Boston Legacy Council, Noted Candles, a women-owned business based in Allston, MA, led members in a candle-making workshop. We learned about the science of candle making (which many of us did not know was so scientific!) and had a relaxing evening networking together.
Moderated by CREW Boston Delegate Dianne Crocker, Tiffany English and Nina Owen, MAI shined a spotlight on the latest industry research paper from CREW Network, "A Catalyst for Change: COVID-19's Impact on Women in CRE."
We were joined by three highly experienced and knowledgeable panelists who gave their thoughts on the challenges we are currently experiencing in the construction industry related to supply chain and labor shortages.
In March, the Entrepreneur Exchange met with both new and familiar faces, leading to great conversations about career paths, opportunities, and resources. Some long-standing CREW Boston members are embarking on business ownership and joined us for the first time, while others are setting goals of industry certification or gaining positions on Boards of Directors. There was a lot to share!
Hosted by the Rising Leaders, members were excited to meet for a fun snowy networking and skating event at the Rink at 401 Park, our first in person event since the pandemic began! Leaders of Heading Home, Father Bill’s MainSpring, and the Pine Street Inn came together for this virtual event to discuss homelessness in the Boston area and the impact the pandemic has had on this vulnerable population.
Hosted by CREW Boston and the CREW Boston Educational Foundation, students and members were invited to attend this free virtual UCREW event. In February 2022, Theresa Whiting joined CREW Boston for a professional development seminar focused on re-entering the office -- and society -- and refreshing our personal brands post-COVID. Like the well-loved mullet hairstyle of a bygone era, our Zoom meeting attire may not be sending the right message!
This virtual event gave members an opportunity to build their network by meeting their peers in business leadership, management, and ownership. Attendees learned about each other’s challenges, wins, opportunities, and resources.
