    A Night of Networking at the Boston Public Market

    On Thursday, February 25th, over 75 CREW Boston members gathered in the KITCHEN at the Boston Public Market to meet our new members and honor our legacy members.  Cara Nelson, President Elect and partner at DLA Piper LLP, kicked off the evening by welcoming everyone and encouraging new members to get involved by joining a committee. She even encouraged ALL members to get involved, as it is never too late to join a committee.

    Women of Legacy

    CREW Boston was excited to present a panel comprised of four CREW Boston Legacy members, Marianne Ajemian, Ileen Gladstone, Leslie Saul and Marianne Votta, leaders in the real estate community. The panel was moderated by CREW Boston immediate past president, Claudia Piper and there was time for attendees to ask questions and network. These amazing women participated in last year's Legacy Lunch Series, and we were delighted to have them together for an evening of candid discussion.

    Project Spotlight Tour of Biotech Lab Research Building in Cambridge

    Over 50 CREW Boston members were hosted by Kathryn Lachelt Brown from Forest City and Kelly Flynn from Takeda Pharmaceuticals to tour the biotech lab research building just nearing completion of construction at 300 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge and they provided background about the development and the unique nature of biotech lab research space.

    2016 Mentor Program Kick-Off Luncheon

    The Mentor Program Kick-Off Luncheon was a great success with almost 50 members in attendance.  This year’s Program is comprised of 30 matches, including Peer to Peer and Mentee to Mentor pairs.  The discussion was kicked off by Cara Nelson, Partner at DLA Piper and this year’s President Elect.

  • Tour of Elizabeth Stone House

    Tour of Elizabeth Stone House

    In December, 12 CREW Boston members toured the Elizabeth Stone House’s (ESH) current location at 8 Notre Dame Street in Roxbury.  The Community Involvement Committee (CIC) organized this site visit given the Stone House is its chosen charity for the 2015/2016 year.  The tour was of the current ESH location where they have their cramped offices, common area library and living room, and childcare space along with 11 residential apartments (these are a mix of 3 and 4 bedrooms which house many different sized families which leads to the occasionally coupling up of 2 families in an apartment).

    Holiday Gift Wrapping Party to benefit the Carolina Hill Shelter

    This year CREW Boston members donated and wrapped presents for 17 families including 24 children.  The wrapping party was held on Wednesday, December 9th at the offices of Colliers International and provided CREW Boston members a way to give back to the community and those less fortunate, as well as network with fellow CREW Boston members during the holiday season.

    Public Strategies Breakfast: Big Challenges, Big Ideas For the Boston Region

    The CREW Boston Public Strategies Committee (PSC) held its first breakfast panel of the year, focusing on strategies to address the region's growing transportation challenges.  The PSC welcomed Jessica Robertson, a senior planner with Utile, who introduced recent research and planning related to the region's transportation infrastructure with an emphasis on new initiatives; Alice Brown, Project Manager at the Boston Transportation Department, who discussed the City of Boston's citywide initiative to connect resident population centers with employment centers in the City of Boston; and Mary Skelton Roberts, Senior Program Officer for Climate at the Barr Foundation who discussed the Barr Foundations work and its emphasis on the need for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).

  • Holiday Shop for a Cause

    Holiday Shop for a Cause

    At the annual Holiday Shop for a Cause event to benefit the Elizabeth Stone House (ESH) approximately 100 attendees shopped the wares of 12 vendors with a treasure trove of goods for the mind, body and soul, including handcrafted jewelry, locally-roasted coffee, handbags, wine totes and even organic lavender products!  Most importantly, the event raised approximately $2,400 for ESH, which will be used for camperships for the children served by ESH.
