    As a thank you to our Committee members for their dedication and hard work, we invited them to a cocktail reception at Tishman Speyer’s Studio, a new concept in co-working space that just opened in the heart of the Financial District. Along with great networking, food, and wine, members were entered into a raffle for some amazing giveaways to show our appreciation. Attendees were able to tour the unique space and hear what makes Studio different from other co-working spaces.

    Networking with the Furniture Trust

    The CREW Development Project Management Group hosted a lunchtime event introducing The Furniture Trust including Christine Mosholder (Founder), Dana DeVeau (Executive Director) and Jill Durant (Director of Strategic Alliances).  This interactive brown bag lunch included a presentation of the unique services from this organization whom provides a service to connect donated furniture to nonprofit organizations that need it the most.  Since founding in 2008, their corporate contributors have donated more than $8,000,000 worth of office furniture to over 600 local nonprofits and schools.  If you would like to learn more about this group, please visit their website www.thefurnituretrust.org

    Transformation of Washington Village

    On Thursday, May 16th at the Boston Harbor Hotel, Peter Sougarides from Samuels and Associates spoke to a very engaged crowd discussing the company’s upcoming project, Washington Village. The original developer, Core Investments, bought parcels along Dorchester and Old Colony Ave that is part of a 144 acre masterplan by the City of Boston designated for redevelopment.  Samuels and Associates has joined Core Investments to develop 700 residential units, 100K square feet of retail and a large open public space all encompassed on a 4.9 acre site.

    In May, members got an inside tour at Jim Davis’ vision to turn Boston Landing into a premier, world-class wellness hub with Erin Harvey, NB Development Group. Now home to New Balance’s World Headquarters, the practice facilities for both the Boston Bruins at Warrior Ice Arena and the Boston Celtics at The Auerbach Center and a carefully curated offering of retail shops and restaurants, Mr. Davis’s vision will culminate in the delivery of The TRACK at new balance, a hydraulically banked track with seating capacity for up to 5,000 spectators. With the recent announcement of The Bowery Presents, a live music venue in the heart of the project, Boston Landing has emerged as one of Boston’s premier work, live and play communities.
